Sai Rajesh alias Steven Sankar, producer/director of the recently-released ‘Hrudaya Kaleyam’ film, was assaulted by an individual following differences over the film early on Sunday.

On Saturday evening, the entire film crew, went to CinePolis in Kukatpally to watch the evening show and judge audience response, after which they moved to a star hotel in Madhapur for dinner.

The crew, accompanied by hero Sampoornesh Babu, continued their session in the hotel till the early hours of Sunday. One Manoj, sitting in the adjacent table in the restaurant, seemed to have provoked Sai Rajesh saying that he did not like the movie.

An argument ensued between the two after which the filmmaker was allegedly punched in the face.

His associates restrained Manoj and later lodged a complaint. Madhapur CI K. Narasimhulu said Manoj was arrested and that a case was registered.
