In what could be another land scam, 435 housing pattas have been issued by revenue officials in contravention of rules in Qutubullapur mandal of Ranga Reddy district recently.
Senior officials allege involvement of local politicians and claim that the allotment of pattas on a hillock is illegal.
It also goes against the existing ban on issuance of housing pattas within the Outer Ring Road limits, they point out.
It all started when some people from Dundigal village approached the officials for housing, following which a socio-economic survey was conducted. The applicants moved the court, which directed the authorities to “arrange for shelter” for these residents.
Stringent action
However, instead of submitting the matter to the district Collector, the Tahsildar himself allegedly issued housing pattas to the residents. Collector A. Vani Prasad, at a review meeting here on Thursday, lambasted the officials for blatant violation of rules, and called for a report by the District Revenue Officer on the irregularities.
She warned that stringent action, including filing of criminal cases, would be taken against the errant officials.
In the meeting, she issued directions to officials towards removal of 40 hutments which came up in the FTL of Yellamma Lake in Kukatpally, and for erection of fencing marking the FTLs for Yellamma Lake, Ali Talab and Khaja Kunta lakes.
She appreciated the efforts of the Serilingampally Tahsildar for removing encroachments on government land and confiscating illegal structures.
On private poultry farms being run on leased lands belonging to SCs in Hafizpet, Miyapur and Serilingampally, she asked the Tahsildar to cancel the lease agreements and allocate the land for Rajiv Griha Kalpa housing project.
