Suicide note by Nirmala stated that she was upset after being chided by her neighbours
Hurt over the remarks made by neighbours over a dispute, a housewife, B.D. Nirmala, 41, committed suicide by hanging in her house at Saichitranagar of Uppal, the police said on Friday.
A criminal case of abetment to suicide was registered against her neighbour, Mohan, a student, and his mother based on a ‘suicide note’ found in the house. The note purportedly written by Ms. Nirmala stated that she was upset after being chided by the neighbours over breaking of a car’s windscreen parked in the house five days ago.
Ends life on Tuesday
“The note said Mohan and his mother abused her, hence a case was registered,” the Uppal Inspector, Laxmiknatha Reddy, said. Nirmala’s husband, Mallikarjun, sells fire safety equipment. Mohan’s father is working as assistant director in a Government department.
The highly decomposed condition of the body suggested that she had committed suicide on Tuesday, the police said. The previous day, she and her neighbours had an argument over someone breaking the windscreen of the car.
Her family members began searching for the woman as she was missing from Tuesday. They inquired with relatives and friends. They believed that she had gone to Tirupati but grew suspicious when there was foul smell from a vacant portion in the backyard of the house.
After breaking open its doors on Friday, they found her decomposed body hanging to the ceiling hook.
