MLA Chinta Prabhakar announced that he was ready to resign provided the former whip T. Jayaprakash Reddy could prove that all the housing sites at Sadashivapet were allotted to the rightful beneficiaries in the past.
A war of words followed between Mr. Prabhakar and Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy over the allocation of housing sites.
Alleging discrepancies in allotment of the housing sites , Mr. Chinta Prabhakar said the allotment was cancelled after the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS ) came to power.
Meanwhile, after the visit of All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice-president Rahul Gandhi to Sangareddy, with a politically revitalised Congress, Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy has intensified his agitation regarding the allotment of housing sites.
Demanding the government to show possession of the housing sites, Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy organised protests at Sadashivapet and Sangareddy continuously for two days. Responding to the protests, Mr. Prabhakar held a press conference here on Thursday, daring the Congress leader to prove that all the beneficiaries were genuine.
“Why has the Congress leader failed to show possession of sites for the beneficiaries even though they were in power for two years after their selection? Is it true that no government employee, people from affluent families and business persons benefitted? Can he prove that all the beneficiaries were genuine ?” asked Mr. Prabhakar.
