A criminal case was registered against the warden of St. Mary’s School hostel in Secunderabad on Thursday following a complaint lodged by parents of two inmates alleging that he had sexually harassed their boys.

North Zone DCP Ch. Srikanth said investigation was on to ascertain facts and record statements of the two students, who are in third and fourth standards.

The students complained to their parents that the warden had called them to his room in the hostel and pulled down the knickers of one of them.

“The warden admitted to have pulled the pair of shorts but he had a different version,” the DCP said.

The warden maintained that the two students were disturbing other boarders with their behaviour. The hostel captain, a ninth standard student, had warned them to mend their ways.

But the third standard student reportedly threatened him saying “I will show to you who I am”.

On the hostel captain’s complaint, the warden summoned the two boys to his room for an explanation.

“The third standard boy used some objectionable words. To warn him, I pulled the pair of shorts he had worn,” the warden told the police.

Both the boys and their parents referred to the single instance of what they described as sexual harassment, the DCP said.
