Elected to world seed body

Telangana State Seed Certification Agency Director K. Keshavulu has been elected as member of Executive Committee of International Seed Testing Association (ISTA) for a three-year term (2016– 2019).

The body was elected at the ISTA Congress 2016 held at Tallinn, Estonia recently. This is the first time that an Indian has been elected to the body, he said. Mr. Keshavulu Kunusoth hails from Warangal district and secured his B. Sc (Ag) and M. Sc (Ag) from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University; Ph.D from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore and Post-Doctoral Research in Seed Science and Technology from University of California. , Davis, USA.

He worked with world renowned seed scientist Kent J. Bradford of USA. He is recipient of prestigious Young Scientist fellowship award of Government of India in the year 2009. He has made significant contributions in the areas of seed biology, seed production, seed research and quality control.
