Honorary doctorate for city cardiologist

Head of Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), Dr. K. Srinath Reddy has received honorary degree of Doctor of Science (Medicine) from the University of London on Wednesday. In a special ceremony held at Buckingham Palace, Dr. Reddy received the award from Princess Royale of Britain, Princess Anne, who is also the Chancellor of the University, according to a statement issued here.

The honorary degree is for Dr. Reddy’s contributions to public health and cardiology. A recipient of Padma Bhushan in 2005, Dr. Srinath Reddy has headed the PHFI since its inception in 2006. Previously, he was Head of Cardiology Department at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Dr. Srinath Reddy is an alumnus of Osmania Medical College (OMC) and has chaired high level expert group on Universal Health Coverage, which was constituted by Planning Commission of India.
