Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Tuesday arrested an Assistant Section Officer of Home Department in Secretariat, Boppidi Sravan Kumar Reddy, on charge of amassing wealth illegally.

Searches conducted by the ACB at his office and residence in L.B. Nagar revealed that he acquired assets worth over Rs. 1.05 crore which were disproportionate to his known sources of income, according to a press release.

His properties included a flat in L.B. Nagar, 14 house plots in and around city and another plot at Suryapet of Nalgonda district.

Gold ornaments

An amount of Rs. 1.05 lakh, gold ornaments weighing 720 grams, silver jewellery weighing 340 grams, Maruti Zen car, a bike, documents suggesting investments of Rs. 32 lakh in SIRI Metal Works at Ramannapet of Nalgonda district, bank balances to the tune of Rs. 4.30 lakh and promissory notes suggesting that he had given Rs. 10 lakh loans were also recovered.

Market value of the assets would be more than rupees two crore.
