They will clear residential, commercial building permissions
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has decided to decentralise certain functions and delegate powers to zonal offices for speedy disposal of issues and provide service closer home for the applicants.
Accordingly, the four zonal offices of HMDA would attend to applications for construction of residential buildings below 18 metres or stilt+5 floors in plots covered by an approved residential layout or in site/plot extent not more that 1,000 sq.mts.
Other applications that the zonal offices would take care of include those for construction of commercial and institutional buildings up to 15 metres height in plots covered by an approved layout or in site/plot extent not more than 1,000 sq.mts, for issue of NOC for petrol bunks in permitted land uses and those meant for regularisation of plots in unauthorised layouts, where the plot area does not exceed 1,000 sq.mts.
The offices would also dispose all applications received under BPS where the construction is in plot covered by an approved layout or otherwise in site extent not exceeding 1,000 sq.mts.
The HMDA had also issued delegation orders for zonal officers to take action in respect of unauthorised developments.
For clearing applications, a committee comprising chief planning officer, zonal officer, assistant zonal officer and a representative of accounts sections would be formed.
The assistant zonal officer has also been authorised to sign all plans and proceedings and be responsible to release them within seven days of the committee decision.
In case of an application received at the head office, which as per delegation orders has to be dealt in the zonal level, it would be forwarded on the same day to the concerned zonal office.
The HMDA is also working on accepting applications for layout, building and change of land use through e-application process, according to a press release issued here on Saturday.
