Those waiting for the auction of plots by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will have to wait for some more time.
And the delay is attributed to the necessary platform for e-bidding being not ready.
After working on the idea of placing more than 40 plots in different parts of the city and suburbs for auction during the last several months, the HMDA planned to initiate e-bidding process on June 27. In fact, some promotional and announcement material too had been prepared for it.
But the Authority, which desperately needs some inflow into its near-empty coffers, deferred the decision on notifying the auction.
“The e-bidding platform is under preparation and we hope to get it started in the next few days. Except this, other necessary issues have been attended to already,” said an official.
Adding few new plots to the ones that did not find buyers during earlier rounds of auction, about 44 plots at Nallagandla, Ramachandrapuram, Gopanapally, Tellapur, Asifnagar and Miyapur were identified to go under the hammer now.
A bigger plot measuring about 4.97 acres at Nandagiri Hills and with an upset price tag of Rs.23.95 crore per acre did not get picked up in the earlier auction.
Several ideas including breaking it into smaller pieces or reducing its price tag have been considered, and response to this particular bit of land would be keenly observed now.
HMDA officials hope that the necessary issue related to the e-bidding process would be completed in a couple of days and the auction process be made public in the next few days.
