A history-sheeter was found murdered near a wine shop at Rethifile in Secunderabad on Sunday morning.

Preliminary investigation by Gopalapuram police revealed that four unidentified persons, including two women, stabbed Syed Fareed (26) to death over previous enmity. “Old feud led them to kill him on Sunday at around 9 a.m.,” said B. Ramakrishna, in-charge inspector, Gopalapuram.

The four waylaid Fareed, picked up a heated argument and hacked him to death, police said.

Fareed was involved in 17 cases, including murder, registered at Lalaguda, Chilkalguda, Gopalapuram and OU police stations in the city, said Mr. Ramakrishna, adding that he was also involved in robbery and burglary cases.

The history-sheeter had been sent to Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Erragadda, a month ago. “We sent him to the IMH for rehabilitation for his alcohol addiction. He was recently discharged,” he said.

The body of the victim, a resident of Manikeshwarnagar in Osmania University Campus, was shifted to Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy.
