Historian passes away

A renowned historian and senior epigraphist (study of inscriptions), P.V. Parabrahma Sastry passed away here on Wednesday. He was 96 years old and leaves behind a legacy of admirers and students. He is survived by wife P. Mahalakshmi, three daughters and a son. He retired from the Department of Archaeology in erstwhile AP State in the rank of a Deputy Director. Former Professor of History in the UoH, V. Ramakrishna condoled his death.Parabrahma Sastry’s long list of achievements included being an acknowledged historian on the Kakatiya Dynasty, National Fellow of the Indian Council for Historical Research and Honorary President of the Andhra Pradesh History Congress.
