Highest number of candidates in fray are from Secunderabad

After scrutiny, 50 candidates remain in the reckoning for Lok Sabha, and 347 are contesting the Assembly elections

After the scrutiny of nominations, 50 candidates for the two Parliamentary constituencies and 347 candidates for the 15 Assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district have remained in the fray. Five nominations filed by candidates for Parliament and 63 for Assembly were rejected during the scrutiny. For Hyderabad Parliament constituency, one nomination was rejected and 16 were declared valid while for Secunderabad Parliament constituency, four were rejected and 34 were declared as valid candidates.

Among the Assembly constituencies, Secunderabad has the highest number of candidates with 39 while 34 candidates each are in the contest for Amberpet and Khairatabad.
