The Hindu in association with TalentSprint would conduct a seminar on ‘Emerging Trends in IT Sector’ on August 22 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Hotel Haritha at Nakkala Gutta in Hanamkonda.

The seminar is aimed at helping the final year engineering/Masters of Computer Applications students with career options in the IT industry, banking and government sector. Eminent speakers would provide insights into job opportunities to help the graduates choose their options. It includes an interactive session too.

Despite a down trend in the IT industry, experts feel there was still a huge requirement for entry-level roles what with over a 100 companies still hiring fresh graduates. Those who can read, write and understand code would continue to be in demand.

As for the banking and government jobs, there were plenty available to attract scores of fresh graduates. Two years of data indicated that a large number of fresh engineering graduates have been taking examinations to enter the banking and government sectors.

And when it comes to IT jobs in core companies, there were many that needed professionals not necessarily for software development but for IT functions.
