Held for giving hormone drug to buffaloes

Fifteen persons belonging to different dairy farms in Old City were detained by the Hyderabad police on Tuesday after it was found that they were administering Oxytocin - drug containing hormones - without medical supervision to buffaloes. Forty eight units of Oxytocin drug and 16 syringes were seized from them. They were using Oxytocin to ensure higher yield of milk from the buffaloes. “Sale of this drug without prescription is banned under the law,” Commissioner’s Task Force DCP B. Limba Reddy said.
