Nearly 8 lakh girl students in the Government schools, including KGBVs, Models schools and Residential schools, will get health and hygiene kits this year, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari said.
Addressing the District Education Officers (DEOs) conference here, Mr. Srihari said each kit sufficient for three months would cost ₹ 400 each and girls will get for all the 12 months though the classes will run only for 10 months. The State Government is spending ₹ 85 crore for the kits.
Mr. Srihari said that from this year uniforms will be given to 9th and 10th class students and till now Central government used to provide assistance for uniforms till 8th class only. The State Government will spend ₹ 30 crore for this.
Formation Day
The Minister asked the DEOs to make arrangements for State Formation Day celebrations on June 2 and officials should make all arrangements and ensure that all facilities like toilets, drinking water should be made ready.
Mr. Srihari asked the DEOs to prepare the seniority list of all teachers as the Chief Minister has agreed for transfers. Some mistakes were noticed earlier but now officials will be made responsible for all the mistakes. All the transfers would be done through web counselling and with transparency. The Minister also warned that no teacher should be posted in the DEO or MEO offices and those working there should be sent back to schools immediately.
