Headmaster in ACB net ‘for taking bribe’

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Friday arrested A. Srinivasulu, head master of the Zilla Parishad High School of Ramanthapur, falling under the Ranga Reddy district, on a charge of accepting Rs. 10,000 bribe from a tailor. Srinivasulu was Mandal Education Officer in-charge of Uppal mandal.

Stitching contract

The Government supplies uniforms freely to all students from first standard to eighth standard in the school under Rajiv Vidya Mission (RVM) scheme. The contract of stitching the uniforms was given to a tailor Girish.

The headmaster demanded Rs. 30,000 bribe when the tailor approached him requesting him to release money for purchasing cloth to stitch uniforms, ACB DSP M. Prabhakar said.

The headmaster then agreed to release the money by demanded Rs. 20,000.

The headmaster then accepted Rs. 10,000 as first instalment from the total amount agreed by the tailor when the ACB officials caught him red handed at his residence.

He tested positive when subjected to a chemical test.
