The Division Bench of the Hyderabad High court comprising Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy and Justice J. Uma Devi on Thursday expressed deep concern at the spurt of honour killings in the Telugu States and hoped for concerted efforts to end the practice.

The Bench made the observations while closing a case filed by Amboji Venkataiah, father of Amboji Naresh of Bhongir, who went missing on May 2. The Bench was informed that Naresh’s father-in-law confessed to have killed the former as he married his daughter against his wishes.
