A Division Bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K. Vijayalakshmi on Thursday directed the officers conducting Teachers Recruitment Test, Telangana to receive and process the application submitted by Swathi for the post of Physical Education Teacher as she has certificate of participation in games at district and State level. Swati told the court that as per guidelines of NCTE any person who gets 50 % marks in intermediate and participates in district and State level sports competitions is eligible to be appointed as PET. The Telangana Public Service Commission has declared that only such persons who have diploma in physical education alone are eligible to apply for the post of PET. This is contrary to NCTE rules. The bench said that the application may be received and processed.
