Hawala racket busted, six held

The Commissioners Task Force (North) on Sunday busted a hawala racket, arrested six persons and seized Rs. 84.75 lakh and five cell phones from their possession.

The arrested persons were identified as Ashraf (27) of Tolichowki, P. Reddy Kumar (39) of Anantapur, Rajendra Kumar Ambalal (39), Patel Jayesh Kumar (28), Patel Mahendar (42) and Rathod Kanak (32) all from Gujarat. They were acting as agents for hawala operator Laxman, who is absconding.

The arrested persons were handed over to Narayanguda police station for further investigation.
