At a time when online transactions are gathering momentum in India, Paysafe, a payments solution company, organised a hackathon to spot talent and reward innovation in the city on Saturday. “We are using behaviour-based security for ensuring robust safety. We are looking for people who can think out of the box, who have lateral thinking ability and can do coding,” said Rohan Sahu of Paysafe.

“There are no blueprints in this business. We are looking for like-minded engineers and developers as there is limited talent to spot,” said Sriram Chittahthoor, CTO of the company.

In the given few hours of the hackathon, Nurendra Choudhary designed a solution for credit card fraud detection using tensor flow. “The application of the problem was really interesting. This was the closest question that matched my experience, so I was confident in building this solution,” said Mr. Choudhury after being named the second winner.

The first prize was bagged by Janmajai Rastogi who solved the problem on HackerRank. “It took time to solve the problem and required my deep attention. It was all about having the knowledge of algorithms and data structures,” said Mr. Rastogi. HackerRank focuses on competitive coding challenge using multiple programming languages.

“Traditionally, payment companies have always been the main target for people who want to steal information and money. Much of the online security is now focussed on patterns of behaviour. Tracking IP addresses, multi-level authentication, rogue requests, and tracking bots. And we need to be at the cutting edge of technology. Hackathons like this help us in that direction,” said Mr. Chittahthoor.
