Gulf-returnee stabs 2 to death in Hyderabad

Abrar attacked his wife Shaheen first, and killed his mother-in-law and brother-in-law who came to her aid. Shaheen has been admitted to the OGH in a critical state

A day after he returned from Dubai, a mason on Wednesday, stabbed to death his mother-in-law and brother-in-law with a knife at Sadathnagar in Pahadisharif on Thursday. The mason also stabbed his wife and she is undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital, the police said.  

The accused Abrar Ahmed, (45) came from Dubai and stayed at a hotel in Shamshabad. On Thursday, he went to the house of his wife and picked an argument with her over some issues.

Children privy to crime

During the course of the argument he stabbed his wife, Shaheen Begum (30), with a knife in front of their children — Sumaira Fatima (12) and Mohd. Israr Ahmed (8). Syed Faheemuddin (24), brother of Shaheen and Naseem Begum (55), her mother, who come to her rescue were also attacked, said Pahadishareef Inspector K. Giri Kumar.

While Syed Faheem died on the spot, Naseem Begum succumbed a little later at the OGH. The condition of Shaheen Begum, who was operated for her injuries at OGH, was said to be critical, the police said.

After committing the crime, Abrar tried to flee from the spot but relatives of the victims who rushed to spot on coming to know about the incident caught him and handed him over to the police.

Relatives of victims informed the police that Abrar was not in contact with his wife Shaheen for the last four years and suddenly turned up at her house on Thursday morning. The police registered a case and are investigating.
