Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development M. Maheedhar Reddy, on Thursday launched the modified ‘Green Channel’ facility introduced by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and also inaugurated a ‘Citizen Facilitation Centre’ at the HMDA head office at Tarnaka.
Mr. Reddy appreciated the HMDA’s initiative of the 'Green Channel' which would ensure faster clearance of planning permissions and accelerate service delivery mechanism to the applicants. A total revamp of the existing scrutiny system, the new facility has standardised format for application, scrutiny proforma and intimation letter that had been devised for transparent approval procedure.
Stating that the modified facility addressed the inadequacies of the last time, HMDA Commissioner Neerabh Kumar Prasad said the applicant could receive the intimation within seven days of submission at the designated counter at the Citizen Facilitation Centre.
For detailed technical scrutiny of proposals, architects have been empanelled and similarly for scrutiny of ownership documents, practising advocates were empanelled, he said.
The introduction of ‘Green Channel’ has been proposed in a phased manner starting with approval of layouts and subsequently extending to group housing, commercial and other development permissions.
