GP reservations to be finalised by June 10

The Gram Panchayat reservations would be finalised by June 10 and the ward reservations would be decided by the District Collectors concerned, Minister for Panchayat Raj Jupally Krishna Rao said here on Thursday.

At a review meeting held here, the Minister said the exercise was on to complete backward classes voters for finalising the reservation of gram panchayats and wards. The SC, ST reservation would be finalised based on 2011 Census. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Vikas Raj and Commissioner Neetu Prasad.

On raising nurseries in every village, the Minister said the process for setting up nurseries in every villages should commence by June 10 and raising the seedlings/saplings should commence by July 15 for supplementing at least 1 lakh seedlings in villages with over 1,000 population and 50,000 seedling in villages with less than 1,000 population.
