The State government will soon be floating the Request for Proposal (RFP) for multi-level car parking complexes, with the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited acting as a coordinating agency for the project, said Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar on Wednesday.

At a meeting at the Metro Rail Bhavan, he asked the officers of different departments – police, HMDA, GHMC, TSIIC, TSRTC, Transport – to come up with specific proposals about their requirements in the plots identifiedfor multi-level car parking complexes. Property and revenue of the multi-level car parking project would rest with the government department/organisation concerned.

All the multi-level car parking lots would be a part of the Integrated Smart Parking Management System of the Telangana Police department. HMR MD N.V.S. Reddy outlined the salient features, the innovative PPP model and the advanced technologies to be used in the parking complexes project and expressed confidence that about 30 to 40 complexes could be built in the city using the model.
