The State Government is likely to issue two circulars in a day or two directing the senior officers involved in the bifurcation process not to avail leave and not to go on foreign tours till the exercise is complete.

According to highly placed sources, Chief Secretary P.K. Mohanty called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Thursday evening and sought permission from the latter for issuance of such circulars. The Governor directed the Chief Secretary not to entertain any requisition from the bureaucrats involved in the process to go on foreign trips, it is learnt.

The State Government is racing against time to complete the bifurcation process before the Telangana State’s appointed day of June 2. In all, 15 committees are working overtime for the division of employees, assets and other government bodies.

Union Home Secretary Anil Goswamy visited the city for two days earlier this week to monitor bifurcation process and held wide ranging consultations with the Chief Secretary and other senior officers over the ongoing process.
