The CPI(M) Telangana State Secretariat has urged the State government to shed its “dictatorial” ways and focus on people’s problems.

The State Secretariat meeting on Wednesday, attended by the party’s national secretary Sitaram Yechury and polit bureau members Prakash Karat and B.V.Raghavulu demanded that the government purchase the chilli produce by allocating ₹1000 crore market fund, and save the chilli farmers under distress in the State.

The meeting also urged for increase of employment guarantee days to 200 days, and increased wages up to ₹400 per day. It also demanded that the state government file a review petition in High Court for regularisation of contract employees, and pay minimum wages of ₹18,000 per month.

The party has announced complete solidarity with the ‘Save Dharna Chowk’ movement. The two-day state committee meeting which will conclude on Thursday, will determine the plan of action for ensuring constitutional rights to SC, ST, BC, MBC and Minorities, a press release said.
