Governor urged to take action against Asad

Mirchowk police refused to take complaint of Shabbir, says the petition. The meeting flayed the MIM for carrying out attack on the TPCC chief, Mr. Shabbir and TDP, BJP and TRS leaders.

An all-party meeting convened at a short notice on Wednesday to discuss the attack on Congress party leaders during the GHMC polls on Tuesday demanded a probe into the unruly incidents and demanded action against MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and his followers.

The meeting held at the Congress Legislature Party office on the Telangana Assembly premises was attended by CLP leader K. Jana Reddy, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Leader of Opposition in Council Md. Ali Shabbir, BJP floor leader K. Laxman, Telangana TDP president L. Ramana, TTDP working president A. Revanth Reddy, and TTDP floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao unanimously condemned the attack on Congress leaders.

The meeting flayed the MIM for carrying out attack on the TPCC chief, Mr. Shabbir and TDP, BJP and TRS leaders. After the meeting, the leaders went to meet State Election Commissioner Nagi Reddy and later staged a dharna at the office.

Memorandum

Later in a four-page memorandum submitted to Governor E.S. L. Narasimhan, they cited specific instances of assault on other party leaders.

The petition said Mr. Asaduddin had abused the Congress leaders in filthy language and later provoked his followers to attack the vehicle of Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy. They lamented that the Mirchowk police had refused to take the complaint of Mr. Shabbir and asked them to leave the place.

The petition also highlighted the assault on the mother of TDP candidate from Mansoorabad division, TDP workers in Motinagar division besides beating up BJP candidate from Jangammet division.

Signatories

Signatories to the petition include Chinthala Ramachandra Reddy (BJP), K.Shiva Kumar (YSRCP), T.Rammohan Reddy and P. Sudhakar Reddy (Congress).
