Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan surprised doctors at Gandhi Hospitals yet again on Wednesday, when he arrived at the State-run facility unannounced.

Mr. Narasimhan arrived in the afternoon to have a minor foot ailment checked. The hospital’s doctors suggested surgical removal of a corn from his foot. It was learnt that the Governor was satisfied with the conditions in the hospital.

Wednesday’s visit is one of the multiple visits the Governor has made to the hospital. In the past, he had taken exception to the standards of hygiene and sanitation, which prompted the hospital administration to ramp up its functioning. On Wednesday, he advised the doctors to maintain the current sanitation standards and improve them. He also discussed the need for expanding MRI diagnostic facilities, it was learnt.
