Governor, CM greet people

Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao greeted people, women in particular, on the eve of Bathukamma festival on Wednesday.

In a message, the Governor said the auspicious Bathukamma festival was characterised by gathering of flowers and unique floral arrangements and it symbolised the cultural spirit of Telangana. Flowers like Gunuka, Tangedu and others would be arranged in beautiful patterns and the worship of the goddess for prosperity, good health and for fulfilment of desires was unique because of its association with flowers, he said, wishing a joyous festival to people of the two Telugu States.

In his message, the Chief Minister conveyed his greetings to people and said Bathukamma, which mirrored Telangana culture and traditions, should be celebrated with happiness and gaiety. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to make arrangements at temples and Bathukamma ghats.
