Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan’s mother, Vijayalakshmi Srinivasan, breathed her last on Friday afternoon in the city. She was 94 and was ill for sometime. She passed away in sleep.

Her last rites were performed at the Panjagutta cremation grounds in the evening. She is survived by V.N. Prahlad, son-in-law; Vimala Narasimhan, wife of the Governor, Hema Parthasarathy, daughter-in-law; grand children and great grand children.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao visited Raj Bhavan and paid his respects to the departed soul. He expressed condolences and consoled the Governor.

Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh also visited Raj Bhavan to pay his respects while AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently on a US tour, called up the Governor and conveyed his condolences.

TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy also condoled the death. Ministers from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh also paid respects, apart from leaders of various political parties.
