Golf tournament to spread awareness about cancer

Cure Foundation is organising Cancer Crusaders Invitation Cup-2014 Golf Tournament on February 15 and 16 at Hyderabad Golf Club. It is held as a fund raiser and awareness initiative.

Tennis star and Cure Foundation supporter Sania Mirza on Sunday said around 150 golfers would participate in the third biennial edition of the tournament.

800 children treated

Appreciating the initiative, she said the Foundation had been creating awareness about cancer, besides treating poor children using its funds. She added that as many as 800 children had already been treated under the initiative.

Cure Foundation founder P. Vijay Anand Reddy said the objective of the event was to raise funds, besides creating awareness about cancer through extensive participation of ace golfers, sportspersons, celebrities and opinion leaders.

Badminton player Saina Nehwal and fashion designer Asmita Marwa are also expected to participate.
