Gold worth ₹ 10.6 lakh seized at airport

The Customs Air Intelligence Unit officials at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport seized 349.50 grams of gold from a passenger who landed from Muscat.

Officials said that based on profiling of the passengers, gold valued at ₹ 10.64 lakh in the international market was recovered from a man who arrived from Muscat to RGIA by Oman Airlines aircraft WY 239 at 5 a.m. on Saturday.

The passenger concealed three gold bars under the feet by wrapping them with tape before wearing socks and shoes. Officials said that further investigations are underway.
