Barely a month after the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) council unanimously rejected the move to add 15 gram panchayats to its jurisdiction, the government has issued orders proposing merger of 13 other gram panchayats.
The GO. 364 proposed the inclusion of areas covered under certain gram panchayats contiguous to the GHMC and called for suggestions and objections.
The GHMC Commissioner has been asked to place the matter before the council and obtain views/suggestions/objections on the proposal and communicate the same to the government within a period of 15 days.
The panchayats proposed for merger are: Shamshabad, Pragathinagar, Bachupally, Kompally, Dulapally, Jalpally, Boduppal, Peerzadiguda, Medipally, Parvathapur, Chengicherla, Nagaram, Gundla Pochampally.
