e-Vans will provide services to unemployed youth at their door steps and help them secure a job
Seeking to connect unemployed youth with jobs, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) would soon be launching Employment Vans (e-Vans) and Employment Zones in the city.
The civic body signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TMI, a city-based HR services firm, for coming up with e-Vans that would provide services to the unemployed youth at their door steps and help them get a job.
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said e-Vans would be equipped with resources to register prospective candidates and provide necessary information on jobs that move around different locations of the city, particularly cover the slum areas.
The candidates registered by the e-Vans would be asked to visit nearby Employment Zone where job seekers get information on jobs available locally and also helped with assessment of opportunities and counselling.
Mr. Somesh Kumar hoped that the initiative would provide employment opportunities to at least 10,000-12,000 unemployed youth in the span of one year. Offering the services free of cost for the job aspirants, the e-Vans would disseminate information on jobs available in private and public sector including openings in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The MoU was signed by GHMC Additional Commissioner (Urban Community Development) K. Siva Parvathi and TMI Executive Chairman T. Muralidharan.
