September 04, 2012 01:58 pm | Updated 01:58 pm IST - HYDERABAD

Mayor Mohd Majid Hussain has instructed all the zonal commissioners and deputy commissioners to be more vigilant as the city was expected to receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours because of a depression.

He has directed all the officers and corporators concerned to be available with their cell phones and wireless sets. Public living alongside the Hussainsagar surplus ‘nala’ and other low lying areas should also be alerted about the chances of flooding.

The Mayor has also appealed to the citizens to utilise the services of control rooms which will be working round the clock to lodge any monsoon related complaints.
