GHMC resolves proposal for Hyderabad bridge

The newly elected GHMC Standing Committee met here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Mayor, Mohammed Majid Hussain and resolved to meet every Thursday.

At an introductory meeting today, the committee unanimously resolved the proposal for construction of a minor bridge across the nala at Fatehnagar pipe line road at an estimated cost of Rs.350 lakhs and construction of box drain on Bahadurpura nala with Rs.74 lakhs, according to a press release.

The Mayor said he would be meeting Chief Minister, K.Chandrasekhara Rao once again with a request for permission to take up maintenance works in the interiors of religious places by the civic body. The GHMC Commissioner, Somesh Kumar, updated the members about circle wise monsoon plan which included BT patch works, clearing of stagnation points, pruning of trees, keeping monsoon teams ready etc.

He said that the civic body had procured 12 more central emergency vehicles in addition to existing six vehicles which would be placed with zonal commissioners in order to reach any problematic area within 20 minutes of time, the release added.
