GHMC plans to build ‘addas’ for labourers

The GHMC along with the Labour Department is planning to build shelters at different labour ‘addas’ of the city where daily wage labourers gather for work.

GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar on Wednesday inspected the labour ‘adda’ at Nampally and said that the civic body has identified 92 places where around 18,000 labourers gather every day. Simple structures for shelter with basic amenities and also medical facilities have been proposed, he said.
