GHMC engineer lands in ACB net

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Thursday unearthed alleged disproportionate assets worth over Rs 1.80 crore belonging to D. Shiva Kumar, Superintendent Engineer in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) here.

ACB officials registered a case of disproportionate assets against Shiva Kumar, after conducting simultaneous searches in his office and residence at Kothapet here.

The searches resulted in unearthing of immovable properties which included 30 acres of agricultural land, five poultry sheds, two open plots, three houses and one flat worth Rs 1.33 crore. Though the market value of the assets will be about Rs. 10 crore, an ACB release said here.

The ACB officials also recovered Rs. 3.86 lakh in cash, 600 grams of gold ornaments, two cars and two motor cycles from Shiva Kumar. He was also found in possession of bank balances, household articles among other movable properties worth of Rs. 47.55 lakh.

The searches are in progress. The accused official would be arrested and produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases here, the release added. Investigations were on.
