Ghee adulteration racket busted

The city police caught a gang involved in adulteration of ghee following a raid on a dairy farm at Champapet on Tuesday.

930 kg recovered

The police recovered 930 kg of adulterated ghee, 700 litres of cream, 92 litres of Vijaya Palmolene oil, 10 litres of vanaspati and empty containers from them.

The accused G. Natraj mixed vanaspati, edible oil and cream and prepared adulterated ghee.

He then, packed it in tin containers and marketed the product with the brand name ‘Sitara Agmark Pure Ghee’.

Hazardous

His driver, V. Jogi Babu supplied the commodity to the shopkeepers across the city knowing well that it is hazardous to public, Additional DCP Task Force N. Koti Reddy said.

The accused along with the material were handed over to the Saidabad police station for further investigation. A case has been registered.
