For the West African nation of Ghana, as it goes about nurturing new age entrepreneurs, the T-Hub incubator in Hyderabad is a role model.
“This is an area Ghana would like emulate so that we can create entrepreneurs of next generation,” its High Commissioner to India Michael A.N.N.Oquaye said on Wednesday after a visit to the incubator.
Expressing his appreciation for T-Hub, he said it was interesting to note how T-Hub “aggregated and congregated entrepreneurs”, supported their ideas and most importantly connected them to sources of funding for their projects.
Scope for collaboration
Speaking to presspersons during his visit to the Federation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mr.Oquaye said there was scope for collaboration between Telangana and Ghana. The two can create a “bigger and better relationship,” he declared.
“We want to establish higher level of diplomacy, do business with Hyderabad because we feel that Hyderabad is one of the areas that is strategically placed to do business with Ghana,” he said.
Best destination
Pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and ICT are areas Ghana wants to collaborate with Hyderabad, he said, pointing out his country is also the best destination for investment in Africa. The bilateral trade between Ghana and India is around $2.5 billion, he said, pointing out that the scope to grow it is immense in the backdrop of India’s large market.
Ghana, the High Commissioner said, served as the gateway to Africa and is part of an economic community of West African States that provided access to a 300 million population.
