The Telangana State, which is hosting the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), a first major international event after its formation, is hoping for good tidings in its favour to make a lasting impression on the visiting entrepreneurs and investors.

Telangana getting a chance to host the event coincides with the State being ranked first in Ease of Doing Business. It is rated the fastest growing State in terms of economic growth according to a leading news magazine survey and metro rail connectivity apart from general buoyant sentiment about Hyderabad and Telangana State, said top government officials.

“It will show another face of India. We are expecting more proposals for better investment in future based on the overall strength of the State. Despite setback due to demonetisation and GST, the State recovered and registered 15% growth rate. The impact of GES will not be confined to Hyderabad alone but on many other priority sectors which the government is promoting in the districts across the State,” they said.

The visibility that the State gets due to GES would be leveraged to seek investments into all the 14 priority sectors identified under the industrial policy, Industry Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said.

It’s immediate impact would be on the service sector as it would get a big boost, particularly the hotel, tourism and retail sectors.

On the speculation on gifts to be given to Advisor to U.S. President Ivanka Trump, highly-placed sources said a professional agency has been entrusted with the task of short-listing the ideal gifts.

They would be those reflective of the local culture, craftsmanship and something that’s unique to Telangana.
