A huge cache of explosive material was seized by the Commissioner’s Task Force (North) on Tuesday after the arrest of a businessman and two rock-blasting contractors.

The TF sleuths, led by Inspector A.P. Anand Kumar, seized 3,100 gelatine sticks, 3,500 electric detonators, seven bags of Ammonium Nitrate and a Tata Indica car from the accused.

The trio, R. Narsimha, 40, V. Ramchander, 34, and D. Ramulu, 38, had procured the explosives illegally and sold it to contractors undertaking rock-blasting work at construction sites, TF Additional DCP P. Rameshaiah said.

Narsimha had been procuring the explosives from his relative who had hidden them in his fields in Nalgonda, when the police, acting on a tip-off, caught the gang at Trimulgherry.
