Gadget expo to showcase 60 brands

The four-day event which begins from June 19 also offers free stall space for start-ups to showcase their works

Offering a platform for inventors, innovators and end-retailers of the gadget and technology industry, the India Gadget Expo-2014 will be held at Hitex Exhibition Centre in the city from June 19 to 22.

Nearly 60 brands from gadgets and electronics industry including LG Electronics, Haier, Qualcomm, Panasonic, Nokia, D-Link, Gionee, Xolo, Amazon and others would be part of the expo being organised by L&T promoted Hitex Exhibition Centre in association with SK Innoventures. A series of seminars, exhibition, presentations and business networking opportunities have been scheduled for the four-day event.

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Hitex COO, K.V. Nagendra Prasad said seminar sessions would be held on June 19 and 20 with P. Balaji, VP & MD of Nokia India and Levi Shapiro from Israel and an Adjunct Professor at Media Innovation Lab, being the as keynote speaker on first and second day respectively.

Industry leaders such as Ajit Joshi, CEO and MD, Inficity Retail, Eric Broganza, President of Haier Appliances, Nitish Tipnis, Director, Hover Automotice and Srini Koppolu, Chairman, Veooz would also be sharing their views on topics such as future of gadgets in an era of unlimited bandwidth, selling gadgets in the digital age, battle of brands, future of Smartphones and growth of App community, he said. The event also offers free stall space for start-ups to showcase their works.

Mr.Prasad said the Indian consumer electronics spending was expected to grow by about 16 per cent in the year 2014 and Smartphones were growing at more than 30 per cent while the global gaming industry was growing at 22 per cent.
