Gadget expo from Sept.18

A Hackathon Carnival, for 30 hours over two days, for hackers to showcase their prototypes and solutions will be organised as part of Indian Gadget Expo that opens here on September 18.

The hackathon, at the three-day expo in Hitex Convention Centre, is themed on smart cities and cover multiple aspects, including health, environment, traffic, security and public grievances. Celebrated hackers, professionals and college graduates will be participating. Industry mentors from well known startups and innovators will also address the participants, a release from the Expo organisers said.

UPTEC Idealabs Ltd and Hackmania are putting together the hackathon with the support of Hyderabad hackers.in and Hyderabad4Innovation. Apart from the awards, the winners get to pitch their products to investors at T-Hub, the incubation centre of Telangana government that will open next week.

Pre-owned Honda outlet

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) on Tuesday inaugurated a company certified, pre-owned outlet under ‘Best Deal’ brand at Raam Honda, Tadbund Cross Road Bowenpally, Secunderabad. It is the first ‘Best Deal’ outlet in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

A release from the company said at the outlet customers get to exchange their old 2-wheeler for a new or certified pre-owned Honda 2-wheeler. The additional benefits they will get include two free services, a six-month warranty and after sales support. Honda will verify owner's documents and also assure quick ownership transfer to the new customer.

Puravankara eyes Hyderabad realty

Realty firm Puravankara has identified Hyderabad as one of the core markets over the next five years.

Managing Director of Puravankara Projects Ltd Ashish Puravankara said the company, over the next five years, proposes to launch around 12.5 per cent of its overall new projects in Hyderabad. It is looking to construct 5 million sq ft.
