Fresh ACB case against suspended registrar

suspended Kukatpally sub-registrar R. Srinivasa Rao had registered non-agriculture land as agriculture in Qutubullapur, causing a revenue loss of ₹ 16 crore, the Anti-Corruption Bureau said on Friday. The official, who was arrested last month when the land scandal broke, had allegedly registered 48 acres of land in Kompally Village at ₹ 82 lakh per acre as agriculture land. The ACB has learnt that the land is non-agriculture land and should have been registered at ₹ 5,500 per square yard, which is more than the twice the value that was shown by the official. This cost the Government exchequer ₹ 16 crore in revenue.

For this misdoing, the ACB has registered a case of criminal misconduct against Rao and produced him before Special Court for ACB cases. Earlier, a production warrant was taken from court to bring him from jail.
