Prohibition and Excise (P&E) sleuths investigating into the series drug rackets busted since July 2, had examined them after their names cropped during interrogation of an accused. They are in 11th and 12th standards.
Initially, the investigators didn't believe the information revealed by the accused that securing drugs online was familiar in some circles. “When we further probed, those four teenagers were identified. They are from well-to-do families,” an investigator said.
A minor's father is a conferred all India service officer. He is serving a key government wing.
Another minor's parents were doctors. One of them is in responsible position in the government. Parents of other two minors are working in top posts of a renowned private company which is into various businesses and connected to construction of airports. When the investigators approached them, the minors -who were scared out of their wits- could not speak let alone parting with any information. Eventually, one of them opened up saying he learnt about Dark Web through his elder brother's friend.
“It seems that person, who is presently in first of year engineering programme in a college at Bengaluru, used to purchase LSD online,” the P&E sleuths unwilling to be named said. The minors learnt from him how to download the special software for browsing Dark Web. They downloaded the same on their laptops. Interestingly, the interrogators tried their hand at browsing Dark Web to ascertain if what they said was correct. They couldn't get any links online. One of the minors opened the laptop and in flat one minute 36 seconds ordered for LSD blots through Dark Web stunning his interrogators. Interestingly, the minors gave their home addresses for delivery of drugs through courier agencies.
“Parents think their wards were receiving books or study material through parcel services or courier agencies but these boys got LSD blots,” an investigator said. P&E Director Akun Sabharwal said that they found that narcotic drugs were being sent mostly from South American countries.
“No cases would be registered against the four minors,” he added.
