Four officials suspended in spurious seed case

The State Government has suspended two Assistant Directors of Agriculture (ADAs) and two Mandal Agriculture Officers (MAOs) in the spurious seed case unearthed in Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar districts on Wednesday.

According to officials, apart from suspending the four officials on the charges of dereliction of duties, charge memos were also issues to the District Agriculture Officers (DAOs) of Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar district for their inaction against the spurious seed sales.

Official sources said, the Commissioner and Director of Agriculture has suspended the ADAs of Ibrahimpatnam and Devarakadra and MAOs of Boothpur and Hayathnagar.

The police arrested four persons on charges of involving in trade of spurious seed on Wednesday and seized spurious seed worth ₹46 lakh.
