Four killed, five injured in road accidents

A woman and child were killed and five others sustained injuries when a lorry hit the car they were travelling in at Medchal on Monday morning. The deceased have been identified as Vijayalakshmi, 30, and Rajeshwari, 4, of Patancheruvu.

The family was returning from a function at Toopran when the accident took place. The condition of the injured is stated to be stable. The police registered a case and are trying to trace the lorry.

Two killed

In a separate case at Ghatkesar, two persons were killed after the motorcycle they were going on hit a road divider on Monday.

The victims, Kishore, 21, and Prashanth, 21, of Nalgonda fell down after their bike hit the road divider at NFC Nagar and succumbed to injuries, police said.

Man kills father

Infuriated over his father not giving him money to buy a cell phone, a man killed his father at Chandrayangutta.

The victim, A. Narsimha, 45, of Indiranagar in Chandrayangutta, worked as a labourer and lived with his son Raj Kumar. On Thursday, Raj Kumar demanded money from Narsimha, leading to an argument.

Later, when Narsimha went to sleep, his son doused him with kerosene and set him ablaze, the police said. Narsimha was rushed to Osmania General Hospital where he succumbed on Monday. The police arrested Raj Kumar.
