Four persons died while three others escaped with minor injuries when the Maruti Alto car they were travelling in overturned on the Outer Ring Road’s service road at Bonguluru gate in Ibrahimpatnam in the early hours of Thursday.

All the seven were employees of Indira and Nagendra theatres in Champapet. They started for a ride after midnight on completion of their duties. The speeding car overturned while negotiating a curve on the service road.

“It looks like the overturned car rolled on the road resulting in serious injuries to the passengers inside,” the Ibrahimpatnam ACP V. Surender Reddy said. Sridhar Reddy, booking clerk, who was driving the car, got crushed to death under the vehicle.

Dhanu, watchman, died on the spot. Narsimha and Narender succumbed to their injuries while being shifted to hospital. Vaasu had multiple fractures on hands. Ramu and Ramesh fled the accident spot.
